About Me

 Maya is a Los Angeles-based photographer & martial artist, who documents combat sports culture in Southern California.

Born in Mexico and raised in California, Wendy’s creativity draws from vibrant cultures, landscapes, and people around her.

From 2012-2014 she lived in Mozambique.  During her time in Mozambique, she began taking photographs, inspired by the  beauty of conventional life in African cities and landscapes. This experience, along with recurring visits to her native México, opened her eyes up to the realities and resilience of the global south. Since then, she has traveled extensively capturing  the essence of everyday people and beautiful places. 

She enjoys travel, covering events, live music and shooting lifestyle sessions.
